As of January 23, 2007 U.S. citizens may no longer fly into the United States from Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, or Bermuda without a valid passport.What this means is if you are leaving the country, you'll need a valid passport IF you want to return. ;)
U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the U.S.and do don't need to present a passport. U.S. territories include the following: U.S. Virgin Islands, , Puerto Rico, Guam , American Samoa, Swains Island and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Passport fees are non refundable.
Age 16 and older: The passport application fee is $67. The execution fee is $30. The total is $97 .
Under Age 16: The passport application fee is $52. The execution fee is $30. The total is $82 .
The passport application fee includes the $12.00 Security Surcharge, which became effective March 8, 2005.
You will also need to present a photo of yourself in a 2 by 2 inch size and it needs to be a head shot of yourself. You can present a digital photo of yourself, but it must be very clear and not grainy or they won't accept it.
You should consider travel insurance to insure your trip. A destination wedding and honeymoon is a considerable monetary investment.
